A possible alternative to slowing and possibly stopping sweeps, along with getting to know such neighbors (perhaps via group coffee get-togethers, like was done in the 90s (i think) between Blacks and Whites), would be my trade for "payment" (becoming a 'paid' subscriber) ::

Check THIS out:

Have artists (college age and up?) show LARGE COPIES OF THEIR ART WORK on the outsides of unhoused people's situations. On their tents, on their vehicles, and so on.

Might be a part of a weekly community parade where participants stop in at unhoused folks' encampments and ask if they would like NEW art to show.

THINK of the FREE SPEECH of it all! And THE IDEA oF combining symbols like that!!

Basically, i think the difficulty, having been unhoused myself in the past, is that there is not enough crucial communication between unhoused and area residents, whom of the latter are i think usually hyped up by their uncritically Trusted professional mediators...i figure you know what i mean.

i'm forwarding this to Street Roots .org and i think it would be likely they'd publish it, and may even have $ to pay you. Figure you already know about them and likely already passed this article onto this now weekly paper? But just in case! As well, know about the national and international groups now organized, which i suspect streetroots can turn you onto better!!

Switching gears: Another vision:

One more idea i've been passing around as widely as i can (and feel free to edit this out of this post) ::

This is about an exceptionally creative way **to try to deliver EMERGENCY SUPPLIES** where-ever they're needed. How? Well, the short answer is simply HOT AIR BALLOONS. The longer answer is EXCEPTIONALLY CREATIVE HOTAIR BALLOONS. Symbolic ones, especially.

Imagine THE WORLD'S ARTISTS designing LEGENDARY HOT AIR BALLOONS.

You've seen how creative they can be when flown in Albuquerque, NM, yes? So imagine the possibilities!! (The main thing is to explore symbolic uses, of course)

i share this stuff as an honoring to your daring work in your life!!

cheers!!
